The Frenchtown Business and Professional Association is sponsoring the 14th Annual Bastille Day Fete on Saturday, July 14, 2012 from 12-6 pm.

Local shops will be featuring special sales, activities, food, raffles, and much more.  Restaurants will be offering French-themed choices on their menu. There will be a puppet show, open air artists, and a mix of street performers strolling throughout town.

There will be live music around town with an eclectic mix of local talent from Delaware Valley High School and Kingwood Township School.  Returning from Bastille Day 2011 is accordionist Tony Kovatch, with the addition of singer Kim Sorenson.  Tony plays a wide variety of music, while Kim provides the vocals, singing mostly in French.  Strolling musician Barry Peterson will serenade us with French songs.  Local musician Skye Van Saun will be performing on Bridge Street from 4-6 pm.

The fun and festivities are extended into the evening with the celebration of Second Saturday’s from 4-8 pm.  Shops will be open late and the Jericho Grass will be playing bluegrass music in the upper lot and the Mitchell Cheng Jazz Quartet will perform in the lower lot.  Both bands will play from 6-8 pm.

At 9 pm, Thistle and River Union Stage are sponsoring “Movie Under the Stars” featuring Marie Antoinette (2006) with Kirsten Dunst and Jason Schwartzman.  The movie will be shown outdoors on the lawn at Frenchtown’s Borough Park on Route 12 and Creek Road.  Moviegoers should bring seating and are invited to come early to picnic on the lawn.
